The primary control interface is linked to the physical field equipment (CCRs, circuit selectors and floodlights etc) through either dedicated multi-core cables or a fully managed, dual redundant fibre-optic loop. A separate system provides detailed engineering and maintenance monitoring data for engineering users and can also be used as an emergency control system.
